About Meg

I grew up in Vermont, went to college in central NY, moved to New York City, and then moved back to Vermont — so geographically have gone full circle while remaining northeast-based. Since graduating with a journalism degree, I did a year of AmeriCorps service, followed by work at a group of teen and women’s websites, followed by dabbling in marketing, before heading to public media newsroom as a digital producer — so again, a very roundabout path to get back to what I’d initially set out to do.

But *TWIST* I actually left journalism recently in order to pursue what’s always been that nagging “hey, I think you actually want to to do this” calling: be a librarian. Having loved spending my time at a library as a kid and volunteering at one in college and basically being passionate about the mission/values that libraries stand for, maybe this isn’t such a shocking life path change?

I’m finishing up by MSLS via the University of Kentucky come December, and I’m really excited to take all the knowledge, skills and experiences I gathered in my previous wanderings and apply it toward a fulfilling librarianship path. My focus is on youth and young adult services in a public library setting.

In summary, yes, I would like to talk with anyone about books (and TV… and movies… and really just all pop culture).
